What is bioidentical hormone replacement therapy?
Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) is a natural form of hormone replacement, which mimics the hormones we naturally produce. BHRT uses processed hormones that come from plants. Estrogen, progesterone and testosterone are the most commonly used bioidentical hormones.
Hormone replacement isn’t necessary or appropriate for everyone, so we will discuss the risks, benefits, and alternatives during your visit.

After a 60-minute initial televisit, tests are ordered on your behalf to assess your individual hormone needs.
After test results are reviewed, a prescription is sent to a compounding pharmacy.
A follow-up visit is scheduled every 60-90 days to reassess your hormones and adjust your prescription as needed. Testing is repeated minimally every 90 days.

The hormones prescribed are bioidentical hormones, meaning the chemical structure is the same as the hormones produced by the body. They can be made from plant materials or synthesized in a lab and are customized to fit your specific needs.
Medication forms depend on the type of hormone and your specific needs and can include vaginal cream, suppositories, patches, topical cream or gel, and oral capsules.

Most patients report some relief of symptoms as soon as a few weeks, and symptoms will continue to improve over time.

After your initial 60-minute telehealth visit, a follow-up visit is scheduled every 60 to 90 days. Additional visits can be scheduled as needed.

Our initial 60 minute telehealth visit is $350, which does not include testing. Some testing can be covered by insurance.
After test results are reviewed, a prescription is sent to a compounding pharmacy. Prescription pricing is dependent on individual needs and will be discussed beforehand.
A follow-up visit is scheduled every 60 to 90 days or as needed to reassess your hormones and adjust your prescription as needed. Follow-up visits are $200 and do not include additional labs.

We use a compounding pharmacy for most prescriptions, but some can be sent to your regular pharmacy.

During your telehealth visit, we will review your health history to determine whether bioidentical hormone replacement therapy might be right for you and then order tests to assess your hormone levels.
After labs are reviewed a customized plan to fit your unique health needs will be provided.
